Answers to Gospel Questions?: According to John -- Polygamy -- Book 1

I wanted to fashion my answers to Gospel Questions after Joseph Fielding Smith's book about Answering Gospel Questions. I'll find the title.

Except, that he is so good at answering questions with so little doubt involved. Like, if I am to do this like him, I would not be able to ask any questions, no matter what, and that's not fair with some of his questions. Which is why I'll ask questions about stuff related to me and my own life and my testimony and my Gospel knowledge. A mixture of the two. You can't have knowledge without faith in the thing.

What do I mean?

Well, in order to believe in math (I have a lot of non-gospel knowledge about the sciences) you gotta believe/have faith that the thing exists, that it works, and many other things, like that the old guys that created counting actually knew what they were doing. Let me give you an example.

a^2+b^2=c^2

How does this formula work and what the heck is this formula.

This is the Pythagorean Theorem. It is a universally acclaimed and believed in concept of math that has many implications upon application.

But does it work?

It does. Almost if not better than then the equation.

b+b=b^2

or,

2+2=4.

Why does it work and why does it work all the time.

It just does.

Can we ask question about it?

Of course. Millennia of questions  have been asked about why something plus somethings equals something. Do you cause doubt when you ask the question? Yes you can. But if it is universally believed to be true, then it must be, right?

Okay...

First question:

Why did the chicken cross the road, haha, jk

Harder:

Why is polygamy a thing?

To answer this one, there are many avenues I can go, but tonight, I just want to Say that Marriage is Sacred. Has been and always will be. Yet, after the first Earthly marriage between a single couple, God made a commandment to Abraham, that he could, with Sarah (I think Sariah's) approval, take his maidservant as a second wife. Things got a little messy and another nation was born (namely Ishmael's people), but that is a question for another day.

It isn't always practiced the way God intends it to be practiced, so many times it has been commanded, and many a time it has been revoked. Right now it is revoked, but that doesn't mean it will never come back. There are many people not ready to live that law, and it is okay. It is higher, just like not many people can live a truly consecrated life or hold the Melchizedek priesthood, Yet live already by those principles.

Polygamy is ordained of God. That said, only He has the power to Bring it to the Earth. And I believe by the end of the world, it shall be brought back, otherwise, why would there be 7 women for every man as mentioned in Isaiah.

It is coming. It is just a matter of before or after the second coming.

How could he? Cain and Lamech

I am so sad for Cain and Abel's story. Because I just learned that there was another that was worse than not his brother's keep. And that was Lamech. :'( He killed Enoch (the prophet's) son, because of secret combination [according to the book of Moses, fifth chapter. It makes me extremely Sad. Are tattle tellers meant to pass away. I don't think so. So this is very hard for me to read about in the book. Realization of these things are difficult to fathom, and why did I not see this before; not sure, but I know now. Two Songs in dedication of the first person sacrificed. And for all those in between. Thanks be to God that we have him below us, to lift us to the highest heights.
